It's Halloween. Let's go trick-or-treating.
You and your friends knock on doors and explore hundreds of houses across different procedurally generated streets. Normal houses are safe | Chance houses can give you a trick or a treat | Haunted houses = death
Work with your team to search houses for loot, fill the wagon, drag it back to Mummy's house, and dump it in the Candy Bank Cauldron.
Something is hunting the street
To make matters worse there are candy hungry monsters that are hunting the streets. Sprinting, shouting, shining a flashlight and of course shooting guns all make you the most interesting person on the street. The quieter you are the safer you are; crouch in a dark room maybe you wont be seen. Hunts can vary in both frequency and amount of hunters. Usually it is one hunter. Sometimes it is two. Very rarely it is all four at once, and that is a story you will be telling for a while.
They can hear you.
Voice is proximity-based: you hear the people near you, and you lose them as they walk away. Shouting down a street to find someone works, and it is also how you tell a hunter exactly where you are. There is a mute key. It hides you from your friends. It does not hide you from anything else. Decide on your tactics: Split up and you cover more doors but nobody sees what happens to you. Dying means losing precious candy.
Reinvest the Candy.
A mummy runs a totally legit / not black-market candy stall. He sells flashlights, shield, a bat, guns, a flare gun, a UV light and an remote controlled cart, plus upgrades to your wagon, your vacuum and your legs. He also sells black magic abilities that are very powerful if you learn how to use them correctly. Prioritize the right items to increase your odds of survival.
Why Candy?
Mummy has a candy KPI (Key Performance Indicator) that he needs to hit. Using dark magic and a cauldron. The candy is refined into sugar that allows Mummy to power the rockets on your house. Candy you are carrying is worth nothing. Candy you have banked is worth everything. The Candy KPI climbs relentlessly; It does not care about if you are having a good run our not. Buy upgrades and weapons to help your chances.
