About Curse of the Ancient Grimoire
Curse of the Ancient Grimoire is a dark fantasy text-based RPG inspired by classic tabletop role-playing games. Explore a dangerous world, make consequential choices, fight tactical turn-based battles, and uncover a story centered on an ancient grimoire awakening beneath the city of Kordos.
You arrive in Kordos after receiving an urgent letter from Syllwa, an old friend and apprentice scholar. What begins as a personal favor soon leads you to sealed shrines, forgotten roads, ancient cults, and remnants of magic that still answer when disturbed.
Create your hero, choose a race and class, manage equipment, accept jobs from the city notice board, and decide how thoroughly to prepare before advancing the main story. Some quests are short and repeatable. Others can be completed only once and may permanently affect the world and your roster.
The game focuses on clear, readable RPG systems rather than reflexes. Armor, attacks, damage rolls, saving throws, conditions, resistances, companions, consumables, and equipment choices all matter in combat. Exploration, survival, stealth, persuasion, history, and perception checks can reveal safer routes, optional details, supplies, or different approaches to a fight.
