About Clickbait Tycoon

New York, 1986*. You have one website, one desk, and one story that will not write itself. Click it into a front page, publish it, and watch the Views roll in. Views become Ad Revenue. Ad Revenue becomes interns. Interns become an empire. (*not really)
Clickbait Tycoon is a pixel-art idle game about building the most shameless media company the city has ever seen - equal parts clicker, RPG, and collect-a-thon.

Staff the newsroom with twelve tiers of hires, from the Caffeinated Intern (will click for exposure) to the Global Media Conglomerate (owns the news, and the weather). Catch Trending Topics, fix typos for combo streaks, publish Golden Articles, and decide what to do when Breaking News hits the wire: verify first, run it dirty, or sell the tip. Then burn your profits in the Research Lab - every mechanic in the game arrives through it.

Your field writer walks the city chasing 40 quests, each guarded by an editor-turned-monster. Click weak spots, land pen crits (the pen is mightier), loot gear, and settle grudges with bosses who remember every defeat. Quest progress is your career: it survives selling out.

Incorporate, buy a Manhattan office tower, and fill its 10x10 grid room by room: break rooms, legal departments, a company gym that trains your writer around the clock. Every room is +1% views forever - the office outlives every reset. Rooms roll rarities. Yes, a break room can be Legendary. Do you love your hires enough?

Bosses drop eggs. Eggs hatch into Pocket Pals: tiny coworkers with stat bonuses, names, and strong opinions. Merge twins, evolve them, hunt shinies. Pals survive absolutely everything - the only "employees" with real job security.

Bank a billion views and sell out: the run resets, but every website you banked boosts you forever. At ten websites the megacorp calls with a buyout, trading your whole empire for Legacy Shares and a dynasty of writers. Prestige on prestige on prestige.
