About AKASHA
AKASHA is a Windows desktop personal media archive for manga, anime, games, films, dramas, and other works you care about. Search the built-in catalog, build your own library, and preserve reviews, quotes, and notes as local Markdown files you control.
Build an archive, not just a list
- Discover — Search or browse a catalog of more than 10,000 works.
- Archive — Add works to a user-selected Sanctum vault.
- Record — Write reviews, quotes, notes, and status updates in the workbench.
- Curate — Organize your library with filters, watchlists, Hall of Fame, and related-media views.
Local, durable data
- Personal records are stored as Sanctum-compatible local Markdown.
- Folder monitoring and atomic writes help keep the vault consistent.
- Search combines your vault, the built-in catalog, and manual entries.
- Catalog searches are local; catalog updates arrive with app updates.
- AI-assisted imports use only the YAML/Markdown that you paste into the app. AKASHA does not send your vault to an external AI service.
Free app, optional support
All archival features are included free. Cosmetic themes are unlocked with Echo earned by using the app and are not sold for money. Support Tokens are planned as optional support purchases and will provide no features, themes, or other benefits. They cannot be purchased in the initial release and are planned for a future update.
Your files remain yours
Reference metadata comes from the built-in catalog. Your personal ratings, notes, and reading or viewing status remain in your vault; related image files are kept in the same user-controlled archive.
