About Tao
Tao is a multilingual study tool centered on the Tao Te Ching and traditional Chinese knowledge.
Switch between Chinese, English, German, Japanese and French. Study the original text character by character, with pronunciation and meaning, and compare the received text, the Mawangdui silk manuscripts, the Guodian Chu bamboo slips, historical commentaries and translations in layouts with one, two or three columns.
Tao includes 18 interactive tools for exploring connections across areas such as yin and yang, the Five Phases, the Eight Trigrams, the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, traditional calendars, celestial phenomena and tonal systems. Its knowledge base contains a curated catalog with more than 5,000 entries covering digitized texts and reference materials. Subscribable content is available through the Steam Workshop, while PDFs, DjVu files, images and text files can be opened directly in the app.
Save notes, bookmarks and your reading progress as you study. Users who have the necessary rights to share material can also publish PDF, MP3 or MP4 files to the Steam Workshop.
