About Project Songbird Official Soundtrack & Dakota's Demos
Experience the music that brought this nightmarish journey to life.
When developing a game the centered so heavily around the creative process of a troubled musician, it was clear that music within the game itself had to be the best it could possibly be to bolster that story. The incredibly talented artists behind this haunting yet engrossing soundtrack did not disappoint on that front.
The Soundtrack for Project Songbird contains 2 distinct records packed as a double album:...
Disc 1, composed and performed primarily by musician Jacob Noska (guitarist for bands such as Louella and Auric Echoes), serves as the scoring for Project Songbird. These tracks live to bring tension and emotion to every scene, crafting soundscapes out of jangling, detuned guitars, walls of distortion and reverb, and the industrial clangs of metal. The atmosphere of Jacob's work clearly embodies the surrealism and Appalachian horror in which Project Songbird sits in so comfortably.
Disc 2, created by multi-instrumentalist Jonah Henthorne (drummer for Auric Echoes and Exit Angles), takes a full 180 from disc 1. Jonah's compositions present themselves in-game as the music that our protagonist, Dakota, writes and records during their time in that isolated log cabin. These songs have a real danceable energy to them. They're catchy, hypnotic, and as Rob puts it in the story, "They want the bass grooves, they want the synth leads!"
In addition to the music by Jacob and Jonah, there are also musical contributions from artists Mango 4th Ridge, Tyler Rosier, and the games solo developer Conner Rush.
