About Terraformers: Independence
In this Terraformers DLC, Martian factions vie for power over the Red Planet. Will you align with the knowledge-driven Scientists, the profit-focused Industrialists, or the idealistic Humanists striving to build a flourishing second home for humanity? Maintain a careful balance: allow any one faction to dominate, and Mars may slide into autocracy, a dangerous path with far-reaching consequences. How will you shape Martian politics and guide the Red Planet toward independence from Earth?
Features
Align cities - When founding a city, assign which faction should lead its local government. There are 3 factions to choose from, with a total of 21 different policies to shape your city’s focus. The better your cities are developed according to a faction’s goals, the more influence the faction will acquire.
Form government - When a faction acquires enough influence, they will take a seat in the Martian Government. The distribution of seats between the various factions determines whether you’ll become a democracy, an oligarchy or a dictatorship.
Use faction perks — There are 50 Mandates in total, divided into five tiers. When a faction gains a seat in government it’ll grant one of these perks, providing a powerful one-time effect.
Gain independence - Earth controls all Martian government seats at the start. Every seat that a Martian faction takes from Earth is a step towards independence.
Leadership - Lead your Martian society in different ways with 4 new leaders. Invest in your leadership by increasing the amount of leaders that are proposed per term, or even increase the number of skills your leaders can use per turn.
Events - Shape Mars’ political fate through 11 new events.
Projects - Focus on leaders, government and factions with 12 new regional buildings, 4 new city buildings, and a new technology.
Landmark - Find a newly added powerful landmark of which there'll be only one on the planet.
Scenario - Try to achieve independence from Earth in a new, longer scenario.
Music - Accomplish all of this while listening to a new music track.
